Forum: texts Subject: Re: Uploading new format

I'm sorry, I must not have made my problem clear. If I go to the upload site, which, as you point out, is well publicized, I am asked to enter a title for the work. Say I enter "Memoirs of Gregorio Panzani (html)".

On the next screen I am asked to enter a title, description, keywords, author, and the file to upload.

My question is how to complete this form so that my upload, which is an html rendering of an existing text, is associated with that existing text and appears as one of the formats for that text, along with DjVU, pdf, txt and so on.

Well, I attempted to slightly answer this question for you. What you can do is create a entirly NEW item and if you would like to link this to an already existing text you can write a review of the existing for the exisitng item pointing users to your item. We do not have a way to upload your html document to an already exisitng text in the archive.

Hope this helps.

Thank you. That clears up the matter.

I find this process non-intuitive, but it is your process, and so be it.

I'm sure there are only a few of us who enjoy correcting and html-encoding scanned texts, and I myself convert no more than 20 MB per year, but it may be helpful to this small audience to make the upload process clearer, perhaps as a FAQ entry.

Thanks again for your help.
